Chicken are a common mob in the world of Minecraft.
Spawning[]
Item[]
If natural spawning is disabled, Chickens can only be spawned by players using their fused item, which can be crafted with an Egg and a Feather. It takes a total of five seconds for the fusion part to be fused, at the cost of 1 mana. After which, you'll have your spawn item to spawn a Chicken, which has a chance to spawn as a baby.
Natural[]
If natural spawning is enabled, wild Chickens will spawn in the Overworld at a light level of 9 or higher with at least two blocks of space above, in most grassy biomes except for Snowy Plains and Mesa Forest Plateau.
Behavior[]
Chickens are one of the few Engender units that will not attack hostile mobs, however despite this, they are one of the best units in the game, as they lay Eggs much faster than normal Chickens, laying one around every minute, so having a bunch of them in a pen is a good way to build an army fast. However, if the player uses a Star of Valor on a Chicken and makes it a Hero Chicken, it will attack any opponent by rapidly firing Eggs, and although each Egg only does half a heart of damage, it is still an extremely effective method of attacking and pushing foes away, however since the Eggs are treated as vanilla Eggs, they will still spawn baby Chickens, meaning having too many Hero Chickens will cover your world with baby Chickens.
The player is able to use the Chicken as a mount and ride on it at a fast speed, and it can glide when falling off blocks, however since the Chicken will take damage when the player is mounting it, it is advised not to use it as a mount aside from its usual use for a Chicken Jockey.
