Ghasts are an uncommon mob in the world of Minecraft.
Spawning[]
Item[]
If natural spawning is disabled, Ghasts can only be spawned by players using their fused item, which can be crafted with an Egg, one Gunpowder, and a Ghast Tear. It takes a total of 50 seconds for the fusion part to be fused, at the cost of 250 mana. After which, you'll have your spawn item to spawn a Ghast.
Natural[]
If natural spawning is enabled, wild Ghasts will spawn throughout the Nether at any light level.
Behavior[]
Ghasts attack enemies by shooting large fireballs that explode upon impact with the ground or with an entity, and if they hit an entity, they're sent flying into the air as well as get set on fire. Despite their low health and large size, Ghasts are extremely powerful, as the impact of the fireball alone deals almost 20 hearts of damage, which is only increased by the fact the opponent also takes additional damage from the fire and fall damage, making Ghasts extremely useful when taking out large groups of non projectile wielding enemies. However other flying enemies such as the Vex can easily take out Ghasts, and if it's low to the ground, it can be shot by Skeletons.
Similarly to its Vanilla counterpart, the fireballs of the Engender Ghast can by struck by a player or an enemy, however unlike the normal Ghast, an Engender Ghast fireball will not kill it in one hit and is usually very buggy when it explodes. The player is able to use the Ghast as a mount and ride on it, which it will fly wherever the player looks, making it good for air transportation. Engender Ghasts are one of the many mobs that have a female model. If an Engender Ghast is made into a Hero Ghast via use of The Star of Valor, it will gain a new ability where the Ghast will occasionally let out a powerful shriek attack that deals constant damage to all hostile mobs within a certain area, with the death message for mobs that were killed by this method saying "(Mob)'s ears exploded thanks to Ghast".
