"A three-headed ghast?! Yikes! Why would The Admin create that?!"
—Jesse astounded to see the Giant Ghast

Ghasther (Known in their source material as Giant Ghast) are a rare boss mob that originates from Minecraft: Story Mode.

Spawning[]

Item[]

Ghasthers do not spawn naturally and can only be spawned by players using their fused item, which can be crafted with a Nether Star, two blocks of TNT, four Emerald Blocks, and two Ghast Tears. It takes a total of seven minutes and forty seconds for the fusion part to be fused, at the cost of 4000 mana and 15 Entropy. After which, you'll have your spawn item to spawn a Ghasther, which has a chance of spawning as a baby.

Behavior[]

Ghasthers attack similarly to how a normal Ghast will attack; By shooting large explosive fireballs, however it has three different variations of this attack; It can fire it like a normal Ghast fireball, it can fire a small ring of multiple fireballs that cause a larger explosion and have a wider area of damage, and it can rapid fire multiple fireballs at once. If a mob happens to get close to a Ghasther, it can damage it with a powerful melee strike. Occasionally, the Ghasther can summon 1-2 allied Engender Ghasts. Due to their high health and powerful projectile attack that can shoot enemies in the air and the ability to summon Ghasts, which on their own are great units, Ghasthers are extremely useful, however making them tends to be expensive due to the fact lots of Emeralds and a Nether Star are needed.

The player is able to mount the Ghasther, however due to being rather slow and having limited vision when on top due to its large size, it is not recommended to use one as a mount. Despite the standard Ghast having a female model, the Ghasther lacks one. If an Engender Ghasther is made into a Hero Ghasther via use of The Star of Valor, it will gain a new ability where the Ghasther will occasionally let out a powerful shriek attack that deals constant damage to all hostile mobs within a certain area, with the death message for mobs that were killed by this method saying "(Mob)'s ears exploded thanks to Ghasther".
