Guardians are a rare mob in the world of Minecraft.
Spawning[]
Item[]
If natural spawning is disabled, Guardians can only be spawned by players using their fused item, which can be crafted with an Egg, one Prismarine Shard, and one Raw Fish. It takes a total of 30 seconds for the fusion part to be fused, at the cost of 120 mana. After which, you'll have your spawn item to spawn a Guardian.
Natural[]
If natural spawning is enabled, wild Guardians will only spawn near and inside of Ocean Monuments.
Behavior[]
When in water, Guardians attack enemies by swimming around and shooting a laser that takes about five seconds to deal damage, while on land, they attack the same way, albeit while flopping around. Guardians also have spikes that act similarly to the Thorns enchant when they are hit. Guardians are a solid unit if you live in a biome that's near or in water such as a River or an Ocean, as Guardians long ranged attacks and the lack of hostile underwater enemies make it hard to counter in the water, however on land, it's easier to deal with due to the long charge time of the laser attack and the fact the spikes only deal a heart of damage.
The player is able to use the Guardian as a mount and ride on it, on land, it will hop at a pretty fast pace, being able to keep up with other land mounts, while in the water, not only does it swim extremely fast, but the Guardian will grant the player infinite Night Vision and Water Breathing as long as it stays on, making it a great method of underwater transportation. Engender Guardians are one of the many mobs that have a female model. If an Engender Guardian is made into a Hero Guardian via use of The Star of Valor, it will gain a new ability where the Guardian will occasionally fire a dual laser attack that takes five seconds to charge, and leaves behind a massive explosion with fire. The laser deals huge damage and has been seen doing as much as 150 damage (75 Hearts) to enemies.
