Pigs are a common mob in the world of Minecraft.
Spawning[]
Item[]
If natural spawning is disabled, Pigs can only be spawned by players using their fused item, which can be crafted with an Egg and a Raw Porkchop. It takes a total of seven seconds for the fusion part to be fused, at the cost of 2 Mana. After which, you'll have your spawn item to spawn a Pig, which has a chance to spawn as a baby.
Natural[]
If natural spawning is enabled, wild Pigs will spawn in the Overworld at a light level of 9 or higher with at least two blocks of space above, in most grassy biomes except for Snowy Plains and Mesa Forest Plateau.
Behavior[]
Pigs will attack by ramming into their opponents. These mobs are one of the best Tier 1 units in the early game, as they have the most health of any Tier 1 unit, tied with the Cow, Mooshroom, and Ocelot, making them good for cheap and efficient combat.
The player is able to use the Pig as a mount and ride on it at a decent speed, however if equipped with a Saddle, they will travel much faster, making them the best Tier 1 mount. Unlike normal Pigs, Engender Pigs are not effected by the Carrot on a Stick item. If an Engender Pig is struck by Lightning, it will be converted to an allied Engender Zombie Pigman, however if it was a Hero Pig, it will lose the Hero effect upon transforming. If an Engender Pig is made into a Hero Pig via use of The Star of Valor, it will gain a new ability where the Pig will occasionally let out a fart that inflicts nearby enemies with Nausea, Mining Fatigue, and Slowness for around 12 seconds.
