"Bears: adorable at a distance. This is true in Minecraft, just as it is in real life. They may look huggable and furry, but they are full of teeth, and not too fussy about what, or who, constitutes a meal." -Marsh Davies
Polar Bears are an uncommon mob in the world of Minecraft.
Spawning[]
Item[]
If natural spawning is disabled, Polar Bears can only be spawned by players using their fused item, which can be crafted with an Egg, a piece of Leather, one Raw Fish, and one Raw Salmon. It takes a total of 32 seconds for the fusion part to be fused, at the cost of 30 mana. After which, you'll have your spawn item to spawn a Polar Bear, which has a chance to spawn as a baby.
Natural[]
If natural spawning is enabled, wild Polar Bears will spawn in the Overworld with a light level of 7 or higher on Grass and Ice blocks in Snowy Plains, Ice Spikes, Frozen Oceans, and Deep Frozen Oceans biomes.
Behavior[]
Polar Bears attack by rearing on their back legs and mauling down with their front paws. Although they are rather slow and have a hard time keeping up with faster and aerial mobs like the Vex or the various versions of the Spider, they have rather solid health, the most of all the Tier 3 mobs, and solid attack power as well, making them good for group attacks.
The player is able to use the Polar Bear as a mount and ride on it, on land, it is unable to jump and is extremely slow, being even slower than the players running speed, while in the water, it swim extremely fast, being able to outspeed Boats, making them good for quickly crossing Oceans without having to spend the Mana on a more expensive unit such as the Guardian.
