Portals are special types of mobs in Engender, Abyssalcraft, and Draconic Evolution that summon other mobs, along with lazer beams to help you fight. They can summon anything from a Bat to a Wither.

All portals, especially higher tier ones, go berserk when you shoot them with a potential energy gun. You can right click portals to despawn them and put them back into their staff form.
Good counters against portals are Zombies. Specifically, an army.
Engender Portals[]

Engender portals are large Bedrock and Obsidian square portals with Beacons at the tips. They summon chain lightning and beams against targets, as well as summon many mobs to help fight. They are actually quite strong, being able to seriously injure mobs as strong as the Witherstorm and J'zahar.

Abyssal Portals[]
Abyssal portals are light perimeterd portals with dark pillars with strange eldritch markings similar to that of the Abyssalnomicon on it. The center has a dark square that leads into the Abyss. Abyssal Portals fight by summoning mobs anywhere from Skeleton Goliaths and similar strengthed mobs to Asorah, The Fallen. They also fight by using lightning bolts and using nearby dropped items and mobs and turning them into a tornado to hit the enemy mob, and shooting small black holes at them.

Draconic Portal[]
The Draconic Portal is a orange portal with Awakened Draconium Blocks with images of Dragon Hearts on the sides. There are also Draconium Infused Obsidian Pillars with the roman numeral 3 on their sides, with Flux Capacitor Blocks as the tip. Draconic Portals attack by spawing the same mobs as the engender portal. They also send out multiple special charges, projectiles, and explosives that act as boomerangs.
