Prison Golems are a rare mob that originates from Minecraft: Story Mode.

Spawning[]

Item[]

Prison Golems do not spawn naturally and can only be spawned by players using their fused item, which can be crafted with four Iron Bars, four Emerald Blocks, and a Pumpkin. It takes a total of three minutes for the fusion part to be fused, at the cost of 1600 mana and two Entropy. After which, you'll have your spawn item to spawn a Prison Golem, which has a chance of spawning as a baby, while the adults spawn wearing the cape that the player has (if they have a cape equipped). Prison Golems have a 1/5 chance of spawning with an alternate texture where the red lines are pink, the same color they had in the Sunshine Institute.

Behavior[]

The Prison Golem attacks similarly to how most of the other golem based mobs attack; They will charge at the enemy and swings its arms up violently to attack, flinging the target into the air, however unlike normal golems, they have the ability to inflict Slowness onto their opponents, which changes in duration and strength depending on the game difficulty, with it being Slowness II for five seconds on Easy, Slowness III for ten seconds on Normal, and Slowness IV for 25 seconds on Hard. Despite lacking a projectile attack like the Ice Golem has, Prison Golems are one of the better budget tier 5 units, since their Slowness effect can allow them to combo enemies and deal big damage rather quick.

The player is able to mount the Prison Golem, however they are not able to move fast or jump like their vanilla counterparts, and as such, it is not recommended to use one as a mount. Despite dropping Entropy upon death, Prison Golems are not treated as a boss mob. If an Engender Prison Golem is made into a Hero Prison Golem via use of The Star of Valor, it will gain a new ability where the Prison Golem will occasionally leap high into the air and create an explosion upon landing that doesn't destroy blocks, it will also occasionally cause this explosion when being mounted by the player, this attack does not inflict Slowness to enemies it damages.
