Silverfish are an uncommon mob in the world of Minecraft.

If natural spawning is disabled, Silverfish can only be spawned by players using their fused item, which can be crafted with an Egg and a block of Cobblestone. It takes a total of eight seconds for the fusion part to be fused, at the cost of five mana. After which, you'll have your spawn item to spawn a Silverfish, which one item will give you three.
Natural[]
If natural spawning is enabled, wild Silverfish will spawn from Stone Monster Eggs that generate inside of the mountains of the Extreme Hills Biome, Igloo basements, Woodland Mansions, and Strongholds, and will also spawn from Engender Silverfish Spawners that can be found in the Portal room of a Stronghold.
Behavior[]
Silverfish attack enemies by swarming them on the ground, dealing more damage if there are more Silverfish around them, by themselves, Silverfish are not good attackers, but in large numbers, they can overwhelm mobs easily, however due to their low health, mobs such as the Vindicator can easily one shot them and decrease their numbers and damage output fast.
Unlike their Vanilla counterpart, Engender Silverfish will not attempt to enter blocks. Engender Silverfish are one of the many mobs that have a female model. Due to their small size, Engender Silverfish will take suffocation damage if they walk over Soul Sand blocks. If an Engender Silverfish is made into a Hero Silverfish via use of The Star of Valor, it will gain a new ability where the Silverfish will occasionally create two new allied Engender Silverfish.
