Slimes are a rare mob in the world of Minecraft.
Spawning[]
Item[]
If natural spawning is disabled, Slimes can only be spawned by players using their fused item, which can be crafted with an Egg and one Slimeball. It takes a total of 18 seconds for the fusion part to be fused, at the cost of 8 mana. After which, you'll have your spawn item to spawn a Slime, which will spawn in at a random size.
Natural[]
If natural spawning is enabled, wild Slimes will spawn in a Swamp biome at a light level of 7 or less, they spawn more frequently during a full moon and will never spawn during a new moon. Slimes can also spawn in other biomes except for Mushroom Islands below Y 40 at any light level inside of a Slime chunk.
Behavior[]
Slimess attack by leaping into opponents to damage them. Due to how the sizes for these mobs work, which is the same as their counterparts; the Magma Cube and Prison Slime, the Big versions are the best for their highest health and damage output, while the Small versions are useless due to fact any attack in the game can kill them.
The player is able to mount a Medium or Big Slime and ride on it, however, they cannot move normally and can only move by holding the jump button to make them leap, however since they do not move too far when they jump, there are better mobs for using as mounts. When a Medium or Big Slime dies, it will split into 2-4 Medium or Small Slimes respectively. Engender Slimes are one of the many mobs that have a female model. If an Engender Slime is made into a Hero Slime via use of The Star of Valor, it will gain a new attack where it will occasionally leap high into the air, creating an explosion that damages all enemies within the current chunk, even those that are underground.
