Wither Skeletons are a rare mob in the world of Minecraft.
Spawning[]
Item[]
If natural spawning is disabled, Wither Skeletons can only be spawned by players using their fused item, however, as of the latest version, this crafting recipe does not work, the only way to obtain an Engendered Wither Skeleton Fusion part is via Creative mode, using /give commands, or by getting the Wither Skeleton Fusion to randomly drop from the Eversource. It takes a total of 40 seconds for the fusion part to be fused, at the cost of 125 mana. After which, you'll have your spawn item to spawn a Wither Skeleton, which will spawn with a Leather Cap for protection (Due to a bug, it cannot wear it and it will drop upon being spawned in) as well as the cape that the player has (if they have a cape equipped). The item can also spawn a Wither Skeleton as a baby, and they have a chance of spawning with either a second Stone Sword or a Shield in their offhand. A Wither Skeleton has an 80% chance of spawning if the player uses a Skeleton or Spider Jockey Fusion in the Nether.
Natural[]
If natural spawning is enabled, wild Wither Skeletons will only spawn inside of Nether Fortresses at a light level between 0 and 7.
Behavior[]
Wither Skeletons attack enemies by charging them and hitting them with their swords, with each hit inflicting the Wither status effect, which changes in duration and strength depending on the game difficulty, with it being Wither II for five seconds on Easy, Wither III for ten seconds on Normal, and Wither IV for 25 seconds on Hard. Wither Skeletons are rather useful units with a combination of their Fire immunity, Poison immunity, and good damage output along with status ailments, they're much better than a melee attacking Skeleton.
Wither Skeletons are undead mobs, meaning they take damage from Healing potions and heal from Harming potions, and are unaffected by Poison, Wither, or Regeneration. Engender Wither Skeletons are one of the many mobs that have a female model. If an Engender Wither Skeleton is made into a Hero Wither Skeleton via use of The Star of Valor, it will gain gain a new ability where the Wither Skeleton will occasionally deal massive damage to an enemy, unlike most Hero Abilities, no animation happens, but it it assumed the Wither Skeleton is suppose to shoot a skull, similar to how the Wither attacks.
